Treating hyperpigmentation
There are three types of lesions that cause hyperpigmentation of the skin: lentigines , also called "age spots," which appear over time in areas overexposed to the sun; melasma , or "mask of pregnancy," which occurs during and after pregnancy as dark patches, particularly on the cheekbones, forehead, and upper lip; and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIHP), often caused by an inflammatory reaction of the skin, such as after acne or trauma.
The treatment of hyperpigmentation is complex and depends on the quality of the skin, its color and especially the depth of the lesion: solar lentigines can be treated more easily by laser on light skin, while dermal melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation require more sessions, with strict adherence to instructions for preventing recurrence, sometimes for several years, especially if the skin is dark.
The aesthetic medicine solutions offered at Skin Aesthetics 87 to treat hyperpigmentation include various lasers, IPL, Hydrafacial, and adapted cosmetics.
